Funny but I was just thinking about a thread like this a few days ago when the current bar got so small as to not be controllable.
When I was a kid, my mother would take the old tiny slivers and put them in the toilet tank. I presume she presumed that that little bit of soap would help clean the bowl. Don't know if it did but I kept up the practice.
Now I just toss it if it's too small to use.
