May I suggest you take the boots to a cobbler and see if he can put them on a boot stretcher and get you a bit more width in the area that bothers you? That might do the trick.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that cowboy boots are the wrong choice for shoveling snow....
You want lining, waterproofing, warmth, rubber soled tread when you're out in the snow.

Love Mine. They are great Boots. My pair are 8 years old and I treat them 2 times a year with Mink oil.+1 on Ariat's. I have had mine for 8 years, they fit great and still look new-ish.
