    Default Norton flattening stone

I purchased the Norton flattening stone for lapping my 4/8k stone. I've since read that this is not the best tool to use because it will require flattening itself in time.

Has anyone used this and am I better off with sandpaper & a sheet of glass or piece of granite?

I don't know much about the Norton but I really like the DMT D8C for lapping.

The Norton lapping stone works just fine, just follow the directions that came with it.... And like everything having to do with straight razors use a light touch.....
