Default Noob Straight Razor find help

Hi there, this is my first post, i had some trouble trying to post in the "shave clinic/noob check in" .

Besides that, I am a great fan of this site. I just converted to a merkur hd a few weeks ago from a shick quatro titanium and i must say the difference is tremendous.

Right now i want to take it a step further and try a straight razor, i am a daring person... but I have read all the reviews on this site and some others and i cant seem to find any "futuristic" or "high tech" looking straight razors.
Can someone help me with this find?
( sorry but i do not have any examples or pictures of what i have in mind )

    Much appreciated

    Welcome!

well, for a futuristic-looking straight, maybe you want to consider a Feather AC?? http://www.classicshaving.com/page/page/1240646.htm

Other than that, you probably are getting into the realm of custom straights, finding a craftsman who makes what you are after. I can think of some of the Bill Ellis razors that Joel has posted photos of, and some of these http://www.franksknives.com/razorspage/razors.html by Frank Warner.

Just a thought. An expensive thought ...
Be there or be square. Only I can do both!
I've got a cat named Beefeater and a dog named Beefeater, and two goldfish called Beefeater and Beefeater. There's Beefeater my hamster and Beefeater my horse, and my piglet, known as Beefeater of course.

    Welcome to B&B

you may want to try a more traditional straight from the b/s/t forums at least until you are sure straight shaving is for you,

There aren't many straight that look futuristic. Warner has been mentioned already, and L.R. Harner is putting out some razors where the scales are quite unorthodox.

Another option would be to get a normal straight rescaled. There's a guy who does carbon fiber scales which look really nice, and quite a while back someone made scales from an old cuircuit board.
