I typically would only check mine when I opened it up to grab a stick. Now that I smoke cigars a lot less frequently, I pop the lid to check it every couple weeks.

Same infrequency here. I pick up a pipe much more than a cigar, now that I have been introduced to Latakia.

I got even lazier. In addition to digital hygrometers, I got an additional wireless one and put the base unit on my desk. I'll flip the lid if there is any more than a 2% change, which isn't very often.
