    Default Is this spine okay?

    Okay.

This is the spine on my brand new Ti Evide Sonnant 5/8, which was honed by a very reputable honemeister.

Both sides of the spine are flat. One side more so than the other. This is reflected in the bevel being different to either side of the blade. (It seems to go further up the blade on one side)

I'm wondering is this normal trait on a new Ti from the factory?

If it wasn't brand new I would have thought it had significant hone wear.

    Here's the pics.

It's not that bad. Looks like there is a slight bow in the blade, but in all I would say it looks normal. Sometimes setting the initial bevel requires a little work. The factory bevel is not always right on.

It is hard to tell precisely from your pictures. However, it looks like there has been a little more spine wear in the second picture that may have been neccessary to set the bevel correctly. Essentially, it looks like your razor is fine from what I can tell.

    Phew! Thanks guys.

Being new I seem to be constantly worrying about my razors.

The shaves are going really, really well though.

Its hard to tell from the photos but the spine and edge look ok to me too. The only question I have is in the first photo whats the staining in the blade?

^ I think that is just the way the light is catching the blade in the photo.

There isn't any staining apparent when you handle the razor.
