Gillette Diplomat's Cousin?

Anybody notice the similarities between these two cases?
Original thinking was that a British #66 belonged in the "Unidentified Case" but now I'm thinking otherwise..
What do you think? Any thoughts, ideas?
What was the British equivalent to Diplomat or President? Was it the #58?
Because of the case's color scheme I have a hunch the razor was Rhodium plated.
Also, the razor and case were purchased in/ from England if that helps.
I smell a mystery in the makings..:001_rolle

Scott,

Did you shave yet with the british New?
I did a few days ago with the same kind of razor and it was the easiest shave I ever had, I think thanks to the open comb with rather slim teeth.
Do you know the year of birth of this razor?

Hi Erwin,

I haven't shaved with it yet but will give it a spin tomorrow since I have some heavy beard growth to mow through.
I'm almost positive the British New pictured belongs in a Bakelite case and was probably manufactured in the early 30's.

I love the British NEW you have shown. They are EXCELLENT razors! I might have to pick up another one of those! I sold the 2 I had last year.
