Dad taught me how to shave with a straight razor when I was 16 yrs. old but I quit after learning to strop, steam, soap & shave because I liked to sleep in. His uncle owned a barber ship in Bend, OR and gave him two restored vintage razors and a brand new one with ivory scales (in 1941). Returning to straight razor shaving seemed like a relaxing way to start the morning.
