11/16 George Wostenholm & Sons Pipe Razor Restore

Well My First Wostie arrived today and it is definitely a beauty. A little smaller than it looked in the photos but that is quite alright. 11/16 is plenty of blade to shave with for sure.

Do here is how I received it:

Those restore very readily and take an excellent edge.

Well she certainly is cleaning up nicely. Now for the really hard decision.....

Keep the natural Patina or completely Polish this beauty up to Mirror Shine.....

Here is how it is after one hour of elbow grease, Mother's Mag and Aluminum Polish and a Microfiber Cloth The Pins are back from Black to Brass, the rusty degraded sticky funk is gone and the scales are back to a shiny sheen with all the gunk gone from the etching:

I decided to just polish out the majority of the discoloration and leave some of the Patina as I do tend to enjoy that aged look. Overall though it shined up quite nicely:

Here's to hoping she shaves as nice as she looks... Nice job.

She definitely did last night my Friend  I did take her to the stones again today though to finish off evening the bevel from heel to toe. I thought I had gotten it last night but upon closer inspection I missed about the last 1/4 inch of the blade at the toe end. Unfortunately that is what I generally use for XTG on the mustache area so it is a MUST that it be properly honed. Took care of that today and it is now tree topping arm hair with little to no resistance throughout the entire edge.
