Never bought a suit

I can think of a couple guys who would strongly disagree with you.

Quite possibly the best post I've ever seen. Well played.

It may not we so well played if you ever try to order four fried chickens and a coke.

I think a good tailor is worth their weight in gold for a great fit. Also, having an idea for the cut, color, and style for this suit is helpful to set your expectations pre-sale. I find that if I visit a few different places before the purchase, I get a better feel for what is available and what I like with regards to the different offerings as well as the level of service.

If there is a Neiman Marcus "Last Call" outlet in your area, I highly recommend them. You can get a couple very high quality suits in your price range, such a Paul Smith, Ralph Lauren, or Armani. The sales staff are very professional, they will set you up with the right tiess, shirts, ans shoes. The suits are sold unfinsihed, and will be tailored to fit. For those who like clothes, Last Call is a fun place to shop.
