Your thoughts on this 8/8 Wade & Butcher

Looks like the Sheffield was buffed off of tang, also never seen another that say Wade & Butcher's , hyphen with S
Also the use of Aluminum to strengthen the scales on the inside. $$_12.jpg$$_57.jpg$$_57.jpg$$_57.jpg

Someone just sandwiched that into the wedge for contrast, not strength. It's just a style decision as the scales are replacements. It Never said Sheffield most likely... it's a blade that's been worked over. At least it still seems to have the grind as it should.

Looks good, definitely has been cleaned up on the buffer, the lines on the tang have been softened. Being a wedge I would doubt temper was blown so I think it is a relatively safe buy.

Scales are definitely replacement and the wedge looks more like a spacer

Someone has done a restoration. Looks like they had to take a bit more steel than they probably really wanted to. It is always a decision. Remove all the pits, or leave a few to preserve more steel.

The blade looks very clean. Definitely been restored to a mirror finish.
About the scales, some people like them to be as original as possible, and some don't care.
If you look closely at Heesoo's on your other thread, you can see that he re-scaled his FBU in black g10, and kept the shape of the original's.
