Basic Dimensions of a safety Double edge razor

What are the basic width and length of a safety razor blade? There are zero answers that i have found on the internet for this.

Measuring a Gillette Silver Blue with an inexpensive dial caliper I get,

1 11/16" (42.84mm) long

7/8" (22.26mm) wide

Holding the blade up against others reveals no variance in any dimensions between several makes. They could have all come off the same production line.

  • The safety razor blades are classified under 3 categories based upon their thickness:
    [*=1]Thick: 0.127 (+/- 0.007) mm
    [*=1]Medium thickness: 0.100 (+/- 0.005) mm
    [*=1]Thin: – 0.080 (+/- 0.005) mm
  • Min/Max Width: 21.9mm to 22.04mm
  • Min/Max Length: 36.82mm to 37.28mm (NOTE: this is the length of cutting edge, not from blade tab to blade tab)

From calipers, microscope comparisons, and photos, they might vary by as much as 0.25mm between manufacturers:
