Need help identifying

This razor belonged to my Granddad. My Dad is 61 and this is the only razor he remembers by Grandad ever using. It is a Gillette and I can't find in date codes or other markings other than "Made in USA", "PAT NOS ON PACKAGE" & "REG U.S. PAT. OFF."

I started doing searches for straight razors and safety razors and found this site. After doing some looking around I dug this out and cleaned it up for use.

It is a Gillette Tech. I have a couple myself. Nice gentle razors. Sorry can't put a specific date on it but I think they were made in the 1940's.

Looks like a fat-handled tech -- a nice, mild shaver. Others more experienced than I will be able to help you narrow down a range of dates.

Welcome to B&B. That is a Gillette Fat handle Tech. It will give you a nice smooth comfortable shave. This razor is known to be less aggresive than many and a fine starter for folks not used o DE shaving. Your Tech is from about the early 50's just before Gillette started date coding them.
I think it's awesome that you an start your DE experiance using your Grandads razor...Enjoy it, I'm sure he did....!!
