I've seen some old vintage strops in a local antique store, they are quite unique and I like the looks of them. Can old vintage strops still be used or is this something to avoid?

My strop is an old horse hide Illinios 835, sent to me by fellow member bluesman 7.

That's good to know, the leather seems to be in good shape and it's got a really nice old look to it as well, I just wasn't sure how old leather was for my razor
It is all about condition. If the leather is still in good shape then yes they can be outstanding strops.
Vintage strops, in good shape, are fantastic. You can find great quality for little money.
