    Default New DE User

    Hi guys,
I have been surfing around the forum for a couple weeks now, and have to say, the site is awesome. I figured I should go ahead and join and introduce myself. I found my grandfather's old DE safety razor(I think it is a SS with black handle)the other day and I just finished my second shave this morning. My first shave went fine, but not the best. This morning I was able to shave WTG, XTG, and ATG, and it was the best shave I have ever had. I have yet to purchase any good shave cream or brush, so I will be looking over the reviews for awhile before making a purchase. Anyway, thanks for all the information and the great site.

    Mike

That is a beautiful SS Friend. Might I suggest getting some different blades?? I believe it would improve your shave even more!. westcoastshaving has some nice sample packs starting around 6 bux. I think you will be surprised how much a blade can make the difference!

    Welcome to B&B!!!

    Regards,

Welcome to B&B! That's a nice personal connection with your Superspeed, so enjoy it with the remembrances of your Granddad.

Your next steps should be to order a blade sampler from Westcoastshaving.com, and acquire a good brush and a cream/soap. Wet shaving is easily learned, and daily shaving will give you the practice necessary for fine shaves in short order.

Welcome to B&B. The best part is it was your grandfather's razor. Lucky you.

Thanks guys. I will be putting an order in with WestCoastShaving today, and I will also be ordering a brush, soap, and possibly a Merkur Progress(to see what all the fuss is about). With these first two shaves, I noticed the blade skipping a little bit, so hopefully new blades and good soap will make the difference.
