SOTD "Favorite Razors Theme Week" August 3-9, 2015

Slightly against the theme (didn't notice before the shave sorry) - but I branched out to try a Gillette C2 Flare Tip for the first time.

It got a bit too close on the neck and chin (as told to me by the alum bar) - but I was happy to complete a shave with "new" hardware and no serious injury since starting out with the Merkur 34c. Will put this one back down for awhile until technique is solid, and I have an aluminum tech to try as well.

Just got this razor in the mail, and my God, this is the best razor i have ever used. Ikon Short Comb on an OSS Handle

Pre-Shave: Bald As Lavender & Mandarin (Sof Pre-shave soap made and kindly donated by Bald As), cold water
Pre-Shave Brush: Whipped Synthetic 24/48
Razor: Mongoose with Weber Bulldog handle
Blade: Feather Professional Super (3)
Brush: Paladin 2015 TSN LE
Soap: Cold River Soap Work Select Savon # 1
Post-shave: Alum, South Australian Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Stirling Vetiver alcohol free Witch Hazel

Another fantastic week is coming.
Another challenging chart of my favorite razors. Today I'm starting with a boom;
#1 Sheffield Straight Razor in my den: John Blyde "The Genius"

A smooth shaver, well balanced, a joy to use. And has a mellow voice.

And so much razor needs to be in good company. Yes today it's on excellent company, with top class software like PannaCrema Vetiver Soap and Fine Aftershave. What a terrific combo!


Pre: A good shower, Menthol Dope v1.0 and a hint of Proraso White Preshave
Brush: Omega Barberpole Synthetic
Soap: PannaCrema Vetiver
AS: Fine Fresh Vetiver / Stirling Ozark Mountain


Moisturizer: My home made cream "Skin Bomb"with shea butter, lanolin, wheat germ oil, avocado oil and argan oil.
