Roger Doucet's "O Canada" always did it and it wasn't even my national anthem.

Dont get super emotional over songs but always get a little sad when I hear Jason Isbell's Dress Blues. Song dedicated to a soldier being killed in Iraq from his hometown area.

Danny Boy gets me EVERY time. Dog and Butterfly by Heart and The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, on occasion do the trick.

This was played on the radio one Rememberance Day morning many years ago, rarely pay any attention to lyrics but this one sure caught my attention and choked me up that morning.

Seeing kd lang perform Roy Orbison's Crying, had to be 1989, was another one.

The song by The National that makes me melancholy is "About Today ".

Yeah, if we are talking about just the band The National then much of their stuff can put me in a mood. They are one of my favorite groups and are on a bucket list for groups I have to see. Here is another one...and I promise, last one from this group for me.
