Ok, so I've decided to upgrade my "ultrafino" ebay hat to something a bit more respectable.. After ordering a nice Fedora from Art Fawcett and experiencing the custom hat process, I'm liking the whole sizing, and customizing thing..

So I've placed an order with Brent Black for one of his "Thousand Dollar" Montecristi hats... which from what I can see on his site is a "mid range" model.. Though he tells me that most people opt for the $450 to $650 price range in terms of sales volume.

Anyway, I was given a choice of a finer weave (both weave count and evenness) [b]orp/b] a pure white color.. I have a more olive complexion so I didn't think I'd look too good in a start white hat so I opted for the higher quality weave (32 per inch is what he's promising).. My question to the purists out there is.. are the off white or more golden colored hats considered "less desirable" .. not that I really care too much (just a little), but when you're spending big $$, you want to be sure you're doing the right thing.

But, YES, I like the color choice in terms of aesthetic..
