Trumper's Brushless!

Didn't have time for a full-blown shave routine yesterday, so I just wet my face, slapped on some Trumper's Limes and went brushless. I knew this would of course work, but it turned out to be surprisingly awesome! I got great lather by just rubbing the cream into my beard and the end result was a fast, smooth, great-smelling shave.

After having just come off a week of using Musgo Real brushless on the road I had a good comparison point. I actually think the Trumper's is way easier to lather and more effective brushless than the Musgo. Next road trip, I'm packing some Trumper's and no brush.

Actually alot of creams are awesome by themselves. We are just fascinated about whipping it up with our brushes. You are basically eliminating the air out of the lather w/o the brush. That is why the guys at Nancy Boy reccomend not using a brush...better results. I still love my brush though! But if in a hurry or traveling... absolutely! TOBS lavender was one that i could not get to work right w/o brush though.

If I'd had time for a second pass, I wouldn't have been going brushless. However, I didn't need one -- it was impressively close and comfortable, hence my excitement about this experiment.

Musgo on the other hand, definitely requires a second pass brushless. I think it's actually a bit too slick and too cushioning to let you get in close on the first pass. No offense to any Musgo fans out there.

I've also tried this with AOS Lavender: It didn't lather up very well brushless and burned my skin a little. The shave was close, but not at all comfortable. Otherwise a favorite cream, but I will stick to using a brush with it.

I don't think my beard is particularly tough, but having some definite scruff is helpful when going brushless because it allows your whiskers to assist in whipping up a little lather.

+1 I think most creams that we use could probably be used just fine brushless. It's a lot less economical as well, though.
