What will you do with the extra time today?

The International Earth Rotation and Reference System, announced Tuesday a "leap second" will be added to account for a discrepancy between the Earth's rotation and the atomic clock. 1 second will be added tonight at midnight. Time to synchronize my watch.

Well, depends. I (and my team) may be dealing with customer calls for software bugs related to this, unless we were successful with the needed updates . It's not Y2K or anything, but there are some potential system (or sometimes just application) hangs that can happen on systems not patched, and are using certain time synchronization software. Most should be fine with the added second, though.
