Yes, it looks like a Rapide, later Henckels, a design licensed from Wilkinson Sword - their Patent Roller Safety Shaver being the original design.

To use a modern blade and get the angle correct, put the modern blade in and then slide the wedge in underneath, pushing it not quite to the front teeth, maybe a millimetre from the front, and secure from behind.

Aye, Paul.....that was the method that I utilized to get a Modern Blade to function.....The GEM Blade is a cutting edge longer than the wedge.......Works a treat......I haven't got round to having a proper shave with my Rapide yet......I done a wee touch up test drive with it to see if it was functioning and "Boy" this is one "Aggressive" "Beasty".............

I have a Henckels equivalent ... and the original Wilkinson Sword, both lovely shavers.
