toggle help

I picked up a shiny new toggle. It opens and closes great, clicks through the numbers without a problem.....but it doesn't look like my blade gap is changing. The distance between the dial and the for changes but I don't note any other movement. Any thoughts ? Thanks.

You don't notice a difference, not even between settings 1 and 9?

It looks like the blade tray is not moving.

Looks like the blade tray moved (relationship between adjustment collar and the dot) in the first two pics. Can't push it with your finger?

edit: the collar moved, I didn't notice the gap beneath it, oops

The safety bar circled in red is what moves.

Make sure the it isn't crudded up, inside. Open the razor and see if the part that adjust the blade(blade tray), move freely, up and down.

A LOT of hard crap can be mummified under a 1-9 toggle tray.

the solo doors close fine but that tray definitely does not move.

If soaking in hot water won't free things up, you might try spraying some WD40 or other penetrating oil into the works. That's worked for me on non toggle adjustables that were frozen up similarly. Might take a day or two of soaking though IME.
