Big bang

It is amazing how a bit of pressure can disperse coffee grounds around a kitchen.

I'd not used my Ascaso dream for a week. It was a busy week and I wanted coffee to take with me for the morning.

My intention was to make some cappuccino . . . pulled a nice double shot. Put the steam in gear . . . hit the right temp . . . nothing . . . nada. Ok I thought on seeing the temp very high. . . release a little pressure through the group. Yep ok. No movement at the steam wand. Ok I give up. Might as well empty the portafilter.

Now this is the point where some stories say . . . "as I awoke in the hospital" . . . Fortunately not the case . . . but what a mess.

This is the time where I start saying . . . oh that big bang . .. just releasing steam sweetheart . . . while cleaning up like a one armed paper hanger.

Undaunted I did make and enjoy a cappuccino.

I have made a big mess with my La Pavoni. Coffee was ground too fine and no espresso flowed, but was able to create a giant splatter afterwards.

Glad you were able to quickly recover.
