List your Top 3 Shavers

What are your top 3 best PERFORMERS? Not your favorite "looking" razor or your grail but your best shaver.

You can list 5 if you want but it gets harder.

Here's my list:

1) 1974 U1 Gillette Super Adjustable "Black Beauty"
2) 1956 B2 Gillette "Red Tip" Super Speed
3) KAI Captain Excelia Folding

The next two get harder but I'll say:
4) 40's Tech Heavy
5) Toss up between Fatboy and a Matador (haven't quite found the right blade for the Fatboy).

For DE razors:
1) Gillette New
2) Gillette Old
3) Gillette Aristocrat Jr.

4) Gillette 1940's Superspeed
5) Early war triangle slot Gillette Tech

For SE razors:

1) Damaskeene
2) GEM Jr.
3) Schick Injector "G"

1) NEW Deluxe 17mm

2) British RFB NEW

3) Probak OC

All of these shave best for me paired with a Weber bulldog handle. The original handles are nice, but I prefer the extra weight of the bulldog.

I only have five razors so my universe of candidates is pretty small, however I don't see the need to buy any more since I am happy with all of them to some degree. That is not to say that I don't keep my eyes open for a vintage three piece or TTO when I'm browsing an antique store or thrift shop.

Dad's '59 Gillette Fat Boy
Grandfather's Schick Krona
My birthday razor: '62 Gillette Slim H1

My others are a Edwin Jagger DE89 and a Feather Popular.

1. Merkur 34c - Not sure how I will ever knock this one off the top.
2. Gillette Super Speed TTO - So efficient but yet very smooth. Just slightly more aggressive than the 34c.
3. RazoRock Baby Smooth - Light, efficient and again, just slightly more aggressive than the above 2 razors.

I had a tough time with #3 cuz my Gillette Slim is right up there as well. I love my 39c as well but its not a daily driver for me so no top 3.

Only have 2 but they are ...

MERKUR 39C (smoothest shave ever)
EDWIN JAGGER DE89

had several razors at one time but sold all but these 2 which are my favorites

1) NEW Deluxe 17mm

2) British RFB NEW

3) Probak OC

All of these shave best for me paired with a Weber bulldog handle. The original handles are nice, but I prefer the extra weight of the bulldog.

My list is similar. I can't decide which is better, my 15 mm NEW Deluxe or my RFB New, so for now they tie for first. I love my Probak, too, but I think my Feather AS-D2 outshaves it slightly.
