Any of the English razor gurus know what model or set this is?
I know it is a Gillette NEW.

Also wondering what the plating is.
Seems to be silver. But I could be wrong.
Maybe chromium?

Confused why it says no.44 but then has a question mark.
When I looked up no.44 sets the razors that came up were Techs.

How can you tell the difference between silver and chromium plating?

Gillette used the same set numbers for different razor styles. For example: NEW No77 and Tech No77.
The Tech No44 case looks like the case of your NEW, so I believe it was called No44 too. But I´m not sure, that´s the reason for the question mark.

Those RFB News are great shavers. I've got one just like yours and I love it. Yes, they are silver plated. I'm sure they are a #44 set Raised Flat Bottom New.
