Hey, this is B&B- you're required to tell us what type of togarashi was used. Was it shichimi, nanami, or just your basic run of the mill ichimi togarashi?
It was the plain ichimi togarashi not a spice mix, enough to add something while letting the scallops and calamari be the main flavour.
I think a nanami togarashi would have gone nice with a citrus note.

correct me if I'm wrong ichimi togarashi is just ground chili flakes. shichimi is seven spices and nanami similar to shichimi but a different amount of the same ingredients with more towards a citrus

I suddenly feel like I walked into a JNAT hone thread

Baaack on topic. :)

The Irish BLT at McSheas in Narberth continues to impress.
Anyone who can pack 6 big rashers of Irish bacon in a marbled rye sandwich is a genius.

All beef hot dog with onions and yellow mustard, peanuts in the shell, and a beer at Nationals Stadium.

It's not high dining, but at a ball game it's the perfect meal. And it's always a little better when the Nats win :)

Today I had again chicken katsu with miso soup and a salad and a side of curry at the Tokyo Express at the Stonestown Galleria in SF.

Guero's in Austin, Texas. Old school margarita's, michelada's, Al Pastor, and Piccadilly tacos. Beef and pork tamale on the side. Queso and corn chips.

The Lunch Bunch made a return visit to Eastborough Vietnamese, in Culver City. Very good indeed. Great service, relaxed but efficient. I had the imperial rolls and then the fried chicken bahn mi, which was perfection.

$IMG_0711.jpg$IMG_0714.jpg$IMG_0716.jpgDaniel Boulud has a bistro here in the Marina Bay Sands casino complex - sorry, I mean "integrated resort - called DB. We were shopping there and felt brunch was in order. They do three courses and a libation, I had a Screwdriver and the missus had a Bellini.

Top Eggs Benedict followed by molten chocolate cake, or crepes. Slightly on the expensive side but nothing is a bargain here!

Thanks. I couldn't decide between seafood or steak. I didn't want to eat both. Seafood won and I made the right decision. Fresh, tasty and light. I grew up near the Gulf of Mexico...it seemed fitting.

you picked well. Steak can be had anytime and the ones cooked at home are normally the best IMO

I watched on TV last night a Kiwi chef cook a 2.5 to 3.0 inch steak stuffed with oysters. He cut a small opening and moved the knife around to make the pocket large.
He stuffed three large oysters in it and then grilled it.

For instance...

The delicious half rack of ribs I had today at Redfish in Hilton Head.
Even better, got there early enough for the Early Bird Special prices.
I had dinner there 3 nights ago and was there in time for the early bird also... Small world!
