Gave up on Preppy

I've been using a Preppy for the past month on my newspaper puzzles. It was better than a ballpoint, but only a little. The top didn't seem to want to stay on - stored, not posted. But it's a $4 pen, so it was certainly worth the money.

I purchased an extra fine nib for my Edison and am very happy with the upgrade. It definitely writes a heavier line than the preppy, but works fine on the newsprint. I'm currently using Pelikan black ink.

Now I have a pen for my 6 year old grandson. He'll be thrilled.

I really like the Preppy pen though I am using vintage now. I found it almost indestructible and a good writer so maybe you got a dud. The only complaint I had was the convertor was almost twice the price of the pen.

I've given out a few Preppys. One had the cap crack on not want to stay on within a couple of days. :(

The other was given to a girl scout whom wrote a thank you note to me when she dropped off some cookies I bought off of her. She loved it. i don't know how long that one lasted.
