Thank you to everyone. I think Portland has filled a really good spot in the straight razor market. Affordable for the new guy wanting to give straights a try, but still wanting to buy new. Good solid quality with truly straight blades so no worries of needing crazy honing skills to keep it sharp. I know the delay from order to receive is hurting them some right now, but that is a function of demand and the accident they had at their new larger shop.

Thank you for the info. That makes perfect sense. The edge is no doubt plenty keen. I may touch it up after a few shaves on my les lat to see if I can impart a bit of coti smoothness that I have grown to like so well. I am thinking that a water only touch up might put it right where I want it.

Did he hone yours with tape? I asked him not to. Actually I wish he would do all his DMT work with 1 layer of tape and then no tape from 1k Chosera and above. I'm sure he will if I ask.

The spine shows zero marks so I am sure he did use tape. That is fine by me as I am a tape user.
