I took OttoVonFaart's advice and installed Adblock Plus, but I do plan to become a contributor as well, love this community.
I run that all the time
I'm so immune to ad banners that I didn't even notice they were gone after I became a contributor

Those ads can be funny. Once I was watching some funny animal clips on YouTube and I had an ad from an animal morgue.
