    Default Ready for straight

So it’s come to this; 6 months after I decided to give DE a try, I found myself gazing longer and longer at the straight razors, getting a reeeeally good RAD going. So yesterday I pounced and bought this (for 60 $ postage included) from SRP (The wife has been protesting loudly, but what she doesn’t know etc.):

Had a bunch of boxes waiting for me when I returned from vacation today.

I screwed up the handle of the Schick while cleaning it. I wasn't thinking and accidently put it in with the boiling razors. Had company and wasn't paying attention. GRR. Also I know nothing of Straight razors so I am hoping someone can tell me how I did on the straights. Here are a few more pics of the straights.

My parents took a cruise a couple months ago and brought this back for my birthday last week. I don't really use alcohol splashes but I might have to give this one a try or at least use it as a short-lasting cologne.

Nice specimens. I was trolling for those on the Bay a few weeks ago (am now on a purchasing moratorium ) They were going for cheap money but none were in the condition of the one you've picked up.

Hi, This is my first post here. I have been lurking for quite a while.

I found this buried in my parents garage while I was visiting. My dad has a habit of buying boxes of stuff at auctions then just letting them sit. I'm glad I went through this one.

Sorry for the bad cell phone pictures. I am on a friends computer with no camera card reader.

    Default 1920 gillette.....Good Karma story.......old/new purchase

OK heres my purchase this week....But first a short story about the purchase. I dont know anything about the open combs, but I had seen this auction and was really into how this razor looked....

so I ended up winning the auction....emailed the seller because I noticed he was about 45minutes south of me, so made arrangements to go pick it up instead of shipping.

I drive down get to the house, I was greeted by the man and his young son. We have small talk he takes me in the house hands me the box, as I open it I notice its in 20x better shape than the pics, I make a comment "wow its in great shape" he goes on to say how its new not used.....

So I go to take out my wallet and he comments on my redsox hat, I say Im a huge fan, and they will bury me with the hat on....He tells me to put the wallet away and I can keep the razor, and says from one sox fan to another.....UNBELIEVABLE....He just gives me the razor. He wouldnt take any money from me, as I tried twice before leaving......

I still left something for him on his coffee table on the way out.....Wow...totally unexpected....Man thats some good KARMA...its cool to know there are still some cool people out there....oh ya the razor Is dated January 13, 1920.....sorry so long winded just wanted to share.....
