What's new

STOP! Who would cross the Bridge of Death must answer me these questions three!

I have acquired a small collection of brushes and I have noticed that...

My taste in brushes is pretty much like my taste in beers. My Whipped Dog Silver-tip is like a wonderful microbrew. It is small, but packs a punch and is a total pleasure to use. However, my omega pro is like a Pabst Blue Ribbon 16oz can. It's big, it's cheap, but I love it and it gets the job done (ok, fine it takes a few cans of PBR to get the job done).

:a8:

So I am curious...

1. What is your favorite "top shelf" brush?

2. What is your "budget beer" brush?

3. What is your favorite color... erm... beer?

...and why?

1. Tie between - Thater 2 band in a 70mm shavemac handle and Wiborg White Badger (2 band) with Flagon Handle for their ultra soft tips and yet substantial enough backbone. Not overly dense to be lather hogs either.
2. B&B Essential Blue handled boar great performance for the price and it looks nice too!
3. Shocktopper and Kronenburg. Life is too short to drink crappy beer. :)

Top shelf -Thater 2 band finest silvertip in 26mm knot. Finest brush I've seen. I'm lucky enough to have bought one.
Budget brush tie between all semouges whipped dogs. Can't beat them for the 20- 30$ brush range.

1. WSP Manchurian + Oscar11 All-Amber

2. original WSP Stubby Superfine 2-Band + Oscar11 Brown/Amber

3. Doug Korn Coblt Blue C7 & all of my Oscar11 All-Amber handles!

1. Simpson Duke 3- would be a Young's Double Chocolate stout, luxurious and rich without being to pompous
2. B&B essential boar- would be a Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA, simple and unassuming but surprisingly powerful
3. Bell's Oberon- who can resist a good wheat ale!

1. 2007 "Shave My Face" special, made by Rooney. One of the best brush handles ever, and the knot is top rate (soft, but still has good backbone).
2. Vulfix 660S, in Super Badger. Best $20 I ever spent.
3. Brown. Very, very dark brown.

Wow! I am officially suffering from badger envy. What are the razors in the pictures? Also good looking pieces.

Dogfish head! I live in PA and visit the brewery in DE at least once a year. Anyone who hasn't tried their IPAs is missing out.
