Help identifying this green & black case, please

that is a nice rare one though.....
Thanks! Back of the Wagon Antiques in Laramie, WY and, believe it or not, this wasn't the find I was most excited about in that shop.

Found a (non-sparking) brass headed mallet for only $12! Now that got me excited :biggrin1:

I was in Cheyenne, Sidney, and Rock Springs/Walmart last week on business. I was coming from Utah.

My better weather hobby is riding my Harley - 35k miles last year, 30k the year before - so I've traveled those same roads many times, and I never get tired of 'em. Of course, retirement has some influence on the mood <grin>

I never get tired of such beautiful scenery, love it.

Can I join? I had an all green case but sold it before I knew I liked NEWs. Ha. This was way back in 2014. Here is the proof:

I kind of regret it now as the razor was in super nice condition but the sell/buy ignited a serious razor acquisition run that has not stopped.
Brent, you're in - and now you're out (you sold it!!)!

Mine had a ratty old empty tuck of "Blades by Cooper" in the case that I threw away, and I see yours had the Gillette Thins. I wonder which tuck would complete the set?

Most likely Blue Blades, that's what Gillette was selling in the 30s.

The Thin blades were released in the 40s IIRC, and the others you mention are not even Gillette.

Here's a 1934 Red & Black ad (it's a Deluxe, but I'm fairly certain the blades were the same), showing Blue Blades.

I picked this little set up yesterday for $15 but can't identify it from Achim's site (wouldn't surprise me if it is there and I just missed it...), and I have no idea if the NEW LC even belonged in the green case. Dimensionally the case appears to be the same as the Red & Black, and it has the same rolled edges and corners, versus the beaded edge style. It's hard to tell from my pics, but the lid has the diagonally creased dome, if that makes sense. The razor and (missing) blade case sit at a slight diagonal to the case, and the tray is lined with black felt while the lid is lined with black leatherette.

Thoughts?

congratulations to this very rare set!

Well, it was listed for that but that listing didn't sell. It was ended by the seller, whether for an offline sale or a change of heart, who knows? But he started it out at $395 even to much bemusement.

...

it´s in my collection - I must make pictures and update my site

Thank you, Edgar - that's what I'd put in there as a place holder while awaiting confirmation! What I have, though, are NOS blues that were being sold from Thailand, so I guess that's kinda cheating...

I'm thinking, too, that this was probably a contemporary of the Red & Blacks, if for no other reason than the cases seem to be identical dimensionally.

And thanks for your interest and assistance with this one.
