How Gillette Made Blades in 1938

Here's an interesting article from 1938 on how Gillette made Blue Blades in 1938

I have a degree in Metallurgical Engineering and the article makes technical sense, even though it was obviously written by a non technical person.

Thanks, Great article...I read a book about Gillette and it described in the process as well.

the photo of the pencil in the caliper.... something doesn't seem right there. 20,000 blades can be stacked in that same thickness? I think they were thinking of the thickness at the sharpened edge.

Look at Ronalds comments at the bottom of that article.
I quote" I used to get 60 good shaves out of the Gillette Blue Blade. Now I am doing good to get 30 out of stainless steel, platinum, etc."

That photo refers to the bleeding edge of the blade.
