SOTD "Italian Aftershaves" Theme Week 15-21 December 2014

Gentlemen,

Due to an oversight on my part, we're a week late to the Italian Aftershave theme week. For me, that means breaking out the Proraso aftershave balm, which is one of the best balms I've tried, and a great value. Next week, with Christmas and New Years approaching, we wil have a "Happy Holidays" themed week.

fighting trim

sunday's before-dinner shave: gillette slim, personna red, martin de candre, georgetown pottery g20 scuttle, simpsons p8 phyl, myrsol formula c, lockhart's & man's face stuff moustache waxes.

off to the right of the frame, four inches of hair trimmed from the ends of my moustache. it had reached sufficient length that I could pull it higher than my eyebrows and had grown too heavy for any amount of wax to keep it pointing where I wanted.

in the ultimate act of marital trust (not really), I asked my wife to wield the scissors. I discovered that she is no better than I am at getting things even on the first whack, as I found myself shorn of about an inch more than I'd have done myself. all that said, I think she did a fine job. anyway, it will grow back if I let it. married for 31-plus years, I have learned that there are many things more important than vanity.

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angles for my beard)

Soap Commander Courage today. 30 seconds: load & go with the Whipped Dog. Nice lather. Polsilver SI still in the Slim. Smooth, close, nick free shave. I finished with Fine Platinum.
