Florsheim Opinion - breaking away from black shoes for biz cazh

Yes, I have been wearing black shoes almost exclusively for some time. Then I realized black is more appropriate for formal wear, and brown offers more versatility, fun, and cool-factor.

I like the look of these, but (lacking a true sense of style) I'm looking for nods or nays. Are these retro cool, or just to be avoided?

I wore Florsheim when I was 18 at my first "uniform required" job.

Classic Wingtip. Burnished leather. Goodyear welt. Perfect.

And these, not so much? Unique, but maybe not in the right way?

I think those are swell.

Avoid that second pair, too funky and not in the good way for someone just starting out. Stick with more classic designs, like the longwings in the OP.

Sounds good, thanks. That's what I was thinking, but sometimes I'm way off. Like thinking black shoes and black pants were a good choice for office wear...
