Crown & Sword with macassar ebony scales

At this beautifol Crown & Sword Razor from Ern the original plastic scale was broken. So I made new scales, from macassar ebony. The wood is oiled and polished. All pins are adjustable an the wedge is from tin/vulcanfibre.

I love how you carried the scimitar from the sword & crown into the scales.
Well done.
It's a razor I'd be proud to use.

I want to start making scales AFTER iI can resurrect a razor from neglect.
What was the thought behind using the third pin?
Is it top do with weight of blade
shape of scales I think the three pin would strengthen the scales
OR did you just carry over the three pin from the original?
????

In this case, the third pin is only a aesthetic gimmick. Here I used a wedge, that is not really a wedge. I wanted, that the blade go deep in the scales. So I took a wider wedge than in other cases. When you use a smaler one, with a real wedge form, the third pin expand the scales for the shank. Depends from the scales and the blade. Here it was not really necessary.

@all: Thank you for the compliments.
