SOTD "Black and White" Theme Week 27 Oct-2 Nov 2014

Welcome to November, Gentlemen!

This week's theme is black and white photos, which was a great success the last time we did it. I thought it brought out some of the best photography I've seen in the Forum. For the next couple of weeks, the theme will be "Saint Sue Auction Winnings", and I'd love to hear from those who supported that worthy cause. I only hope I've given enough time for the winnings to arrive.

Monday morning's shave setup:

Hot shower, 4711 soap, Earthly Delight shampoo, whiskers included
No pre-shave

TOBS Grapefruit cream
Utilemud red/lavender bowl
Fatboy F-4, set at 6
Yellow Gillette 7 O'Clock, 3rd or 4th shave
Cold rinse
Alum block
Cold rinse
4711 cologne, as an AS splash
Geo. F. Trumper Coral Skin Food

Best part of October restraint is trying the stuff just sitting on my countertop, instead of getting all up into the latest/greatest. So disappointed by some recent TOBS cream shaves, I had ignored the Grapefruit. No pre-shave, just to test it. The best lather imaginable. Took a couple of minutes to mount up in my bowl, but was thick, rich, luxuriant, soothing, cushiony, you name it. No nasty dye. I really like the grilled-graspefruit scent, although I suspect it is just chemicals with no grapefruit involved.

Tried a little bullfrogging on lower neck, with this amazing lather. BBS shave, almost no irritation.

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angles for my beard)

Tabac today. Nuff said! I loaded the ER Silvertip for 20 seconds and got enough lather for 3+ passes. Israeli Viking’s Sword still in the Slim. Great smooth, close, nick free shave. I finished with Tabac.
