Fixing a Parker 51 Special Cap

Hello All,

Yesterday I came across a Parker 51 Special at an antique store. For $12 I couldn't really pass it up. It looks to be in pretty good condition, but I haven't been able to fill it up with ink as I am visiting my parents and don't have any with me. I can't wait until tomorrow so I can fill it up and see if it writes.

My question to you is what the best way to fix a pen cap is. The arrow pen clip and the jewel on the top are loose. The clip spins all the way around, and will move about 20 degrees in either direction. I figured I had better confer with everyone over here in the Nib before I tried anything. Thanks in advance!

Here are the requisite pictures:

table tennis rubber

I don't think there's a better idea than table tennis rubber. I actually watched a vid on YouTube about this very thing. Grandmia made the vid. He used some sort of tacky material to tighten the jewel. I destroyed a 51 cap trying to snug down the jewel. Next time I run into this, I'll use ping pong rubber.
