Wishing everyone a Happy Diwali

From yesterday the most important Hindu festival and consequently the biggest festival in India has started. It's called Diwali or Deepavali, translated simply as "The Festival of Lights"

I wish a very happy Diwali to all my brethren of the B&B brotherhood. May your life be filled with light.

My daughter was in university in Leicester which hosts the biggest Diwali celebrations in the UK some years ago. We went along and had a really great night!

All the best to you Guru!

Festival of lights? Sounds vaguely familiar.

I'll celebrate any holiday that has tasty desserts.

Life isn't about finding yourself. It's about creating yourself. ‎Never forget that you are not alone. The Divine is with you helping and guiding you. He is the companion who never fails, the friend whose love comforts and strengthens. Have faith and He will do everything for you. ‎May your thoughts and actions illuminate your world , this Diwali and ever.

President Obama Extends Warmest Wishes for Diwali: http://youtu.be/9MO1kywF6mc

Last words he says are saal mubarak - meaning happy new year. The lunar Hindu Vikram Samvat calendar is appx 56 years ahead of the solar Gregorian calendar.

The new samvat calendar starts on the 24th as Diwali as per lunar calendar falls on the New moon.
