B&M Shoe store in London - help from UK members

OK dear members in the UK.

I'm coming to visit next week and would not mind picking up a good pair of shoes, Loakes or similar. Where is a good place to try some on for sizing and to determine the best last?

Cheers

I don't have a suggestion, except this one: take me with you! I'd love to go shoe-shopping for a nice pair (or several) of shoes in London. I even sometimes watch shoe-making videos on YouTube.

I'm not in London Mark, but there are shoe stores all over the place both in the City and the West End. Most of the larger Department stores carry a good range of shoes and will obviously allow you to compare from brand-to-brand.

The Alfred Sargent shop in St. James is right next to TOBS and right around the corner from Trumper, DR Harris and T&H. Just sayin'.

If you're travelling further afield than London I can recommend the factory outlet stores around Northampton, the hub of the British shoe making industry.
Plenty of info available on the net. I was there in 2011 and picked up a nice pair of Cheaney brogues.
