Home made shaving soap

My wife used to make soap at home. On request, she made a batch of soap that have Bay Rum (sp?), cinnamon, clan and some other stuff. She eventually got out of it because she got her degree and it really wasn't paying for itself.

Does anyone here make their own soap? I can't wait to get my rig and learn to use it. It worked really well for disposable blades, I can't imagine how good it will be with a DE!

Actually, I was thinking of asking some of the senior members if they wanted some to try just to get their opinion on whether it WOULD be good for DE.

I use my own homemade soap. Although I don't go the full route and make it from lye and all that stuff, I just use a really good melt'n'pour olive oil/glycerin base and add scents and clay to taste. I enjoy it.
