Ivory Scales need help

I have been lurking for quite some time, and been wetshaving for quite a few months.

I came into possession of vintage from early 1850's?

The Blade is worn down but the scales are beautiful, and real Ivory.

I need to have a new blade (can be vintage) installed (and honed, I only have a strop atm) into the scales.

The blade does not look that bad to me.

You think so? hmmm maybe It just looks worse to me than it really is. I feel like its not got a lot of life left.

A good honing and your all set

I am no straight razor expert to say the LEAST, but that blade looks totally salvageable to me. Just get it to someone who knows how.

That blade has plenty of life left. If you would like it to be sharpened and possibly restored I can honestly recommend member Doc226. He rescaled a Heljestrand just like that for me in dark horn as sharpened it. Who is the maker of yours?
