in my expierance gold rums have had less flavor when you mix them then white rums.am i wrong because maybe it was the rum i bought and not really gold rums in general

i was thinkin about buyin the anejo though

Some less expensive "gold" rums are simply white rum with color added. Examining the label for a statement about aging should help.
The ageing in barrels provides the added flavor and color.

Cheaper "gold" tequila is often the same.

I like Bacardi Anejo from Mexico. You might try that, if you can find it.
