Pie! No specific flavor, just something nice and warm, although pumpkin sits well towards the end of October.

Turnip soup. Brown some smoked sausage, then add crushed tomatoes, a can of Rotel, turnips and some pinto beans. Awesome. A good pot of collards with some smoke ham hocks, and chili is also welcomed in the fall.

Cassoulet, potato gratin, roasted winter vegetables (squash, brussel sprouts, etc), homemade soups.

can anyone give a link to a way of making that hard cider that is simple but tastes good? I'd be interested in trying that.

I used to get fresh cider without any preservatives, simply add an airlock and let her rip.you can add some brewer's champagne yeast if in a hurry.

Pumpkin pie, deer roast wrapped basket weave style in bacon and stuffed with peppers, home made beef stews, chili, turkey and dressing just to name a few.
