Not as smooth as i thought!

It is worth mentioning that in the beginning you will need more frequent honing than you will need later on. Learning all the techniques invariably leads to blades dulling much faster than they will once you get the techniques mastered. Send them out or learn to hone yourself, but keep those edges shave ready during the learning process. Take advantage of this while learning to try different types of edges so you can figure out your preferences. Coticule, Jnat, Ark, synthetic, film, etc.

This is very wise advice.

Even for honing itself, some people prefer edges less sharp than others. Experiment with different degrees of sharpness. Using different finishing methods will do that automatically, at least in part.
