New Whipped Dog Silvertip

I received my 24mm silvertip about a week ago and I am somewhat unimpressed. I cannot get a good lather with this thing! I have tried every technique I know with several different soaps.

The quality of the brush is great though, mine has only shed a few hair so far.

Which soaps and how do you lather? Bowl, face?

I've used Mikes, Cold River, Htgam, just to name a few. I bowl lather, haven't tried to face lather yet.

Try using my product, at least 2x as much especially if you used to use a boar that is not very dense. Got my WD in 22 and 24mm about 2 weeks ago. Had the same problem until I started using more product.

Tl;dr use more product

My whipped dog silvertip is a lathering machine... and holds enough for five or six passes, even (with most soaps -- including my "usual" Mike's). I think a new one not lathering is just a question of a bit more practice. Figuring out how much water to start with and the rate at which to add it, and also, related, how much soap to load to start. I have some higher-end (Simpsons) brushes, and the WD Silvertip at least holds its own.
