Back to black?

Picked up a nice contract Tech at a swap meet. I cleaned her up, I plan on having the head and baseplate replated but how can I get the handle back to a nice black color?

If I were to do this myself, I would get a spray paint. I would put a 10x32 screw in the handle so I don paint the threads, hook it on something outside and spray all around. However, I never done this so there might be a better way or this might simply be wrong.

I would use a firearms finish such as Cerokote. It seems that would adhere much better than spray paint.

That should work and it would wear very well.

Have you considered powder coating?

Hey I have a friend that does powder coating, that's an idea!

Do a search for Captain Murphy's Fatboy Restoration post. I think it's a sticky, and is called something like "I Love to Restore Fatboys". He had one done in Cerakote Black. It looks awesome.

Has anyone ever tried parkerizing, or similar finishes, on these? I don't know about cost, but I imagine the finish would last a lifetime, under the relatively safe conditions a razor would face.
