Injector question

I just got an old injector on ebay, it's the one with a white plastic handle and a gold or brass head. My question is if the head is solid brass or gold plate. It's going to need a bit of cleaning so I hope there are no steel parts that can rust. If the head is brass then I can shine it up really nice, if it's gold plate I may have wasted my money.

Head is both. Brass base with a thin gold plating on top. Schiks and Gillette used brass as a base because it is not steel and thus won't rust in a shaving environment. Congrats on your score. Load it up and shave away.

Correct. The later ones (J series etc.) are gold on top of nickel on brass. No rusting problems on any Schick injector.

Thanks for the info guys. Now I'm looking forward to seeing how nice I can fix it up.
