Dry towel on top of hot towel, anyone tried this?

I heard or read somewhere that covering the hot towel on your face with a dry towel will help to keep the heat in. Anyone tried this? I'm curious about this method because I have a huge very dense towel, which won't be useful as a hot towel (it takes ages to get it completely wet, and once it's wet, it's too much work to stretch it to get rid off the excess water, specially if I have to do this more than once) and I'm thinking of using it dry to cover a hot wet thinner towel.

sounds like a good idea to cover with a dry towel - this would just be more insulation.

I've tried it. I get a nice hot towel for much longer by covering it with a
dry towel.

I imagine your setup of the thinner wet towel with the heavier over it would work well. I find my bath towels hold in heat pretty well. I think I might give it a try this weekend.

Dry towel over wet? Haven't tried it, but I will now! That's definitely cheaper than the microwavable gel face mask I was considering for keeping my towels hot.

The easy way is to wet part of a large towel then fold the dry part over the wet. At least that's what I've been doing. I'm still not noticing any difference, but that's why I'm still a newbie.
