If you shoot Canon or even if you don't.

One of the best teaching projects I was ever involved in was a class I took when I was around 14 ... my father let me borrow his treasured Leica IIIf for the class, and the instructors first lesson was to have us shoot some DELIBERATELY BAD PHOTOS. Overexposed, Underexposed, Shaky, Out-of-Focus, Chopping a person's head off during a portrait, Badly composed, Tilted Horizon, etc. We made every mistake in the book ON PURPOSE. Once we had shot a roll of film that showed what BAD PHOTOS looked like, we rarely made those mistakes again, and could concentrate on producing some really stellar shots.
 
Saw that last night, it's pretty cool. UPS just dropped off a Canon 85mm f1.8. I'm pretty stoked about it!
